Johannes Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Paganini, Op. 35 (Book I), is widely considered one of the most formidable peaks of the entire piano repertoire. Composed in 1883, Brahms took the famous theme from Niccolò Paganini's 24th Caprice for Solo Violin and transformed it into a rigorous "school of virtuosity."
